Exposures

We started our photographic journey many years ago. We took a class in Black & White Photography as an exercise to enhance our perception. We had always created images in color so to be constrained to work with existing images without color was intriguing.

Initially the work was about the camera and the mechanics, but that soon evolved to image interpretation and manipulation. We found it interesting how you can have concrete reality before you and still have the ability to enhance that reality.

Perspective, props, and point of view are tools that are as significant to painting and sculpture as they are to photography. The assembly of images in any medium, we learned, is remarkably similar.
